Building Culture and Organizational Success

I bring over 21 years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources across multiple industries, including retail, professional services, and technology. Over the past seven years, I have grown with AutoVerify, moving into my current role as VP of Human Resources in 2021, where I partner with the CEO to deliver culture.

My work has spanned all areas of HR, from talent acquisition and workforce planning to leadership development, compensation strategy, organizational design, and compliance. I have also led HR initiatives during acquisitions and business transitions, ensuring cultural alignment and smooth integration.

Ultimately, my role focuses on creating a people-first strategy that strengthens our Be Better culture, supports employees, and drives sustainable organizational success.

Embracing Technology and AI in HR

As technology and AI become increasingly integrated into the workplace, my HR philosophy has evolved to see these tools as enablers of connection, not replacements for it. At AutoVerify, we use digital platforms and are beginning to leverage AI-driven insights to improve efficiency, transparency, and decision-making, while never losing sight of the human element. In a remote, digital retail environment, technology and AI streamline processes and personalize support, ensuring HR continues to prioritize empathy, trust, and culture-building.

“Transformation does not happen in isolation. It takes collaboration between HR, leadership, and employees to make real cultural change possible.”

Attracting and Engaging Top Talent

Attracting high-caliber talent in a competitive tech market is not always about offering the highest salary. What matters is the complete compensation package and the value it provides to employees. Candidates consider benefits, flexibility, professional development, and the overall culture of the organization. Many aspects of an attractive workplace are not measured in dollars. They are found in a supportive environment, a sense of belonging, and a positive culture. Incorporating these elements into your recruiting strategy ensures candidates see the full value of joining your organization.

I also view the interview process as a two-way street. While we assess a candidate’s skills and potential, they evaluate us to ensure we are the right fit. HR plays a key role in showing the value of the organization, highlighting not just the role but the culture, flexibility, and opportunities that make us unique. At AutoVerify, we seek cultural additions rather than fits. We aim for diverse perspectives and strengths that help us evolve, keeping our environment innovative, inclusive, and attractive to top talent who want to grow, contribute, and thrive.

Fostering Meaningful Employee Engagement

Employee engagement is not about adding programs for the sake of it. It is about creating meaningful connections between employees and the company’s mission. At AutoVerify, we anchor engagement efforts in our goals and values through the Be Better culture code, which encourages us to be Collaborative, Innovative, Communicative, and to create Impact. For a digital-first workforce, this means designing initiatives that are flexible, tech-enabled, and inclusive, including virtual collaboration, continuous feedback, and recognition. By aligning engagement with our culture code and strategic goals, we ensure that employees feel empowered, connected, and invested in the company’s success.

Redefining the Role of HR

My advice is to redefine what HR means to people. It is not just a compliance function or a place employees go when something goes wrong. HR is a catalyst for culture, innovation, and growth. Aspiring HR leaders should see themselves as culture drivers, not just culture supporters.

This begins with trust. When employees know HR is a safe and neutral space, they will bring forward their concerns and ideas. This is invaluable because it allows HR to identify challenges early, solve problems effectively, and champion initiatives that truly matter to employees. Transformation does not happen in isolation. It takes collaboration between HR, leadership, and employees to make real cultural change possible.

I also encourage aspiring professionals to lean into empathy and transparency. Transformation requires employees to buy in, and they will only do so if they feel heard and respected. At its best, HR aligns people with strategy so that employees thrive and the business thrives with them.
